YOKOHAMA, Japan, July 3 (ANI) — Green Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Yokohama in March 2027, aims to promote global cooperation toward building a sustainable and environmentally conscious society.
More than 75 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation, with additional countries expected to join. In June, organizers held a preparatory meeting in Yokohama that brought together domestic and international stakeholders.
Japan’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Norikazu Suzuki, emphasized the purpose of the Green Expo, noting that participating countries will showcase a diverse range of flowers and plants while highlighting the importance of a circular economy and environmental sustainability.
The theme of Green Expo 2027 is “Scenery of the Future for Happiness,” reflecting the vision of creating a future in which nature, plants, and people coexist in harmony to foster a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Organizers said the exposition will also address the growing challenges posed by climate change, including its impact on agriculture, marine ecosystems, and public health.
The event aims to promote global awareness of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and underscore the role of plants, flowers, and green spaces in achieving environmental sustainability. These themes will be reflected in the pavilions of participating countries.
Naveed Trumboo, first secretary at the Embassy of India in Japan, said India’s pavilion will showcase the country’s native flowers and plants while promoting the vision of a circular green society.
“The Indian pavilion at Yokohama Green Expo 2027 will feature Indian native flowers and plants. It will attract audiences and send a message to create a circular green society. India is a spearhead of the green society,” Trumboo said.
With participation from more than 75 countries and organizations, Green Expo 2027 aims to foster international collaboration in advancing a greener and more sustainable future. (ANI)
