New Delhi, September 9 — Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov has described the first-ever INNOPROM.India industrial fair in New Delhi as an unprecedented development in Russia-India economic relations, highlighting the growing scope of bilateral trade, technology cooperation and industrial partnerships.
In a welcoming address published in the “INNOPROM.India and 18th BRICS Summit 2026” magazine, produced jointly by the Embassy of Russia in India and the Financial Express, Alipov said the industrial fair is being held at Bharat Mandapam from September 9 to 11.
Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the event brings together more than 200 companies and businesses from the two countries.
The Russian delegation includes senior executives from major companies and institutions such as Rostec, Rosatom, Roscosmos, RUSAL, Transmashholding, PhosAgro, the Russian Export Centre and Sber, along with official delegations from Moscow, Krasnodar, Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk.
The Indian exposition features the National Steel Pavilion of the Ministry of Steel, with participation from SAIL, NMDC, MOIL and MECON. KABIL, Vedanta and ITC are also participating, along with a dedicated presentation from Andhra Pradesh.
The business program will focus on industrial cooperation, localization, joint ventures and mechanisms to facilitate bilateral trade, including cross-border payments in national currencies, customs procedures and transport corridors.
The fair will also highlight additive manufacturing by combining Russian expertise in equipment and materials with India’s manufacturing capabilities and critical mineral resources. Discussions will cover the value chain from mineral exploration and extraction to advanced processing and high-value-added products.
Other areas of focus include computing, artificial intelligence models, data infrastructure and standards, as well as regional aviation and production localization.
Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, are expected to participate in the plenary session.
Alipov said the event’s business-to-business and business-to-government formats are designed to connect technological expertise with industrial capabilities, identify reliable partners and advance concrete projects in both countries.
He said INNOPROM.India complements the two countries’ national policies of Atmanirbhar Bharat in India and technological sovereignty in Russia.
The ambassador also highlighted the rapid expansion of bilateral trade, saying Russia-India trade had grown nearly sevenfold over the past five years to exceed $63 billion in 2025. The two countries have set an ambitious target of reaching $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.
Alipov invited participants to engage in the fair and its high-level sessions and explore opportunities for industrial partnerships. He said the event would further strengthen the foundation of the Russia-India Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership as the two countries enter its next decade. (ANI)
