New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the Union Budget 2022-23 has several important provisions to take India forward in the direction of modernity.
While addressing a program on Aatmanirbhar Arthvyavastha, the Prime Minister said, “Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman comprehensively explained the Budget in a timely manner given its vastness.”
“This Union Budget has several important provisions to take India forward in the direction of modernity. It is very important for us to make a self-reliant and modern India. This Budget has several important provisions to take India forward in the direction of modernity. India’s economy is expanding continuously due to the decisions taken in the last 7 years,” added PM Modi.
The Prime Minister said that today the world’s perspective of looking at India has changed a lot and now, the world wants to see a stronger India. “Indian economy is at a turning point. There is a possibility of a new world order post-COVID pandemic. Today, the world’s perspective of looking at India has changed a lot. Now, the world wants to see a stronger India,” he pointed out.
While addressing BJP workers and leaders, the Prime Minister said, “With the world’s changed perspective towards India, it is imperative for us to take the country forward at a rapid pace by strengthening our economy.” Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled Union Budget 2022-23 on Tuesday.
Budget will enable development of border villages to stop migration, says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the migration from border villages is not good for the national security and the current budget has provisions to develop ‘vibrant villages on the border. “Migration from border villages not good for national security and budget has provisions to develop ‘vibrant villages on the border,” said PM Modi While addressing a program on Aatmanirbhar Arthvyavastha.
The Prime Minister said that the budget also focused on the development of villages at the border while adding that the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Centres will be brought in at schools situated at the border. “Government plans to impart National Cadet Corps training to youth in border villages which will help them join armed forces,” he said.
“We have decided that we will develop the villages on India’s borders. For the same, we are moving forward with a holistic approach. Such villages will have all facilities- electricity, water, and others and a special provision has been made in the budget,” said PM Modi.
He further said that the Budget has envisioned a 2,500 km-long natural farming corridor along the banks of River Ganga, which will also help the Clean Ganga mission. “In 2013-14, public investment was at just Rs 1.87 lakh crore. In this year’s budget, we’ve pegged it at Rs 7.5 lakh crore. Compared to UPA, this has seen a 4 times rise. This will promote FDI and will create modern infrastructure in the country,” he added.
He further said that the country’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are the oldest and strongest pillars of the Indian economy. “During COVID, we started the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECGLS). This scheme has safeguarded nearly 1.5 crore jobs, and aided 6 crore lives,” he added.
He said that Under PM Gati Shakti, thousands of km of new National Highways will be created. “In 2014, the nation had 90,000 km of National Highways. This was built in the last 70 years. In the last 7 years, we have created 50,000 km of National Highways! Under PM GatiShakti, thousands of km of new National Highways will be created,” said the Prime Minister.
Budget focuses on poor, middle class, youth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the Union Budget 2022-23 focuses on the poor, middle class and youth and aims to provide them with basic necessities. While addressing a programme on Aatmanirbhar Arthvyavastha, the Prime Minister said, “This Budget focuses on the poor, middle class and youth and aims to provide them basic necessities. Our Government is working on the saturation of basic facilities.”
He further said that this budget has several steps to take India on the road towards modernization.
“In the last 7 years, the decisions taken are continuously enlarging the Indian economy. 7-8 years ago, India’s GDP was Rs 1.10 lakh crore. Today, our GDP is nearly Rs 2.3 lakh crore,” said PM Modi.
The Prime Minister said that in 2013-14, India’s exports stood at Rs 2.85 lakh crore and today, it has achieved Rs 4.7 lakh crore. “With efforts from our govt, nearly 9 crore rural households have already been installed. Out of this, over 5 crore connections have been installed under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the last 2 years,” said the Prime Minister.
He said that in this year’s budget, there’s provision for 80 lakh pucca houses for the poor. For the same, Rs 48,000 crore has been allotted. This will help them overcome poverty and take them forward, he added.
“People, globally, want to see an empowered and strong India. It is imperative for us that we take our country forward at a rapid pace and strengthen it across several sectors,” he added. He said that this is to fulfil new aspirations and it is important that India becomes self-reliant and on that pillar, a modern India is created.
India’s forex reserves increased due to Centre’s effective policies, says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India’s forex reserves have increased to USD 630 billion from USD 200 billion due to the government’s effective policies. “The budget has been appreciated. Prior to 7 years, India’s GDP was Rs 1 lakh 10,000 crores but today it’s about Rs 2 lakh 30,000 crores. Even the country’s forex reserves have increased to USD 630 billion from USD 200 billion. All of this is due to our government’s effective policies,” said PM Modi while addressing a program on Aatmanirbhar Arthvyavastha.
The Prime Minister said that they have taken steps to make a Natural Farming Corridor which will be 2,500 km long and nearly 10 km wide. “We have taken steps to make a Natural Farming Corridor which will be 2,500 km long and nearly 10 km wide. In the first phase, it will be implemented in Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal around the river Ganga. It will be a complete ecosystem,” said PM Modi.
He further said that PARVATMALA will provide modern connectivity and infrastructure in the Himalayan region. This will smoothen access to the hills – both for tourists, pilgrims, and most importantly, for our defense forces. “This will benefit Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Leh Ladakh, and Northeast people. People from the hills have a lot of talent. They have proven their abilities in several sectors, from sports to the defense forces,” he added.
PM Modi said that the government has decided to develop the villages on India’s borders for which they moving forward with a holistic approach. “Such villages will have all facilities- electricity, water, and others – and a special provision has been made in the budget,” he said.
“In this budget, an announcement has been made that in Aspirational Districts, Aspirational Blocks will be worked upon in coordination with states. This will take developmental work to the lowest level of the society and empower them,” he added.
