Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 14 (ANI): Congress Discipline Committee Chairman and former Cabinet Minister Nav Prabhat said that the people of the country are going to vote on basic issues like unemployment and inflation in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Nav Prabhat said, “People will vote this time by looking at the basic issues in the Lok Sabha elections, like unemployment and inflation.”
Nav Prabhat further accused BJP MP’s of not fulfilling their responsibilities and not doing any developmental work in their constituencies.
“The five MPs in Uttarakhand did not fulfil their responsibility properly, which is why BJP had to change its candidates on 2 seats. BJP MPs did not do any work at ground level during the Corona period. Even no account of MP Fund is kept.”
“Prime Minister Modi had appealed to adopt a village, but these MPs did not pay any attention to that scheme. Therefore, this time they will have to face this public anger in the Lok Sabha elections,” he added.
Meanwhile, another Congress leader, Rajiv Maharshi, claimed that after Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi‘s two successful rallies in Ramnagar and Roorkee, BJP‘s castles in the air had collapsed.
Maharshi said that both rallies were more successful than expected and the way people turned up despite all the adverse circumstances has created a stir in the BJP camp. “The way Priyanka Gandhi addressed the issues of the state and the response given by the people who came to the rallies has also determined the result of the election,” he said.
Maharshi said that Priyanka Gandhi has left the BJP speechless by raising issues like inflation, unemployment, paper leak, Ankita murder case.
He said that till date BJP‘s star campaigners were building castles of lies and harvesting votes but today’s rallies have proved that people are no longer ready to tolerate BJP‘s misrule.
It is noteworthy that the 2024 Indian general election in Uttarakhand will be held on April 19 during the first phase to elect the 5 members of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election will be announced on June 4.
