Washington D.C. [USA], May 13 (ANI): A special Air India flight AI 104, expected to first touch down in Delhi and then Hyderabad, departed from Washington on Tuesday night, on the fourth day of the Centre’s ambitious Vande Bharat Mission to bring stranded Indians national back home.
The flight took off from Washington’s Dulles International Airport post-midnight. (local time). An AI special flight carrying 334 Indians took off from Chicago on Tuesday. The same flight is expected to land in Chennai today. India will launch the second phase of ‘Vande Bharat Mission ‘ from the United States on May 19 under which Air India will operate 7 flights to bring back countrymen from the United States.
These will be a repeat of the same cities as phase one as flights will originate from San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago and New York. However, the onward and final destination will not remain the same. Under the ongoing phase one, some 1200 Indians are expected to fly back to India on 7 flights operated by Air India . (ANI)
Vande Bharat Mission: 180 Indians land in Chennai from Malaysia
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 12 (ANI): Air India repatriation flight from Kuala Lumpur with 180 people, including two infants, onboard landed at Chennai Airport on Monday. The special flight brought back Indian citizens who were stranded in Malaysia, due to coronavirus-induced lockdown.
The flight was operated under operation Vande Bharat Mission to bring back Indians who wished to return home. Yesterday, Air Indian special flight carrying 179 passengers landed at Cochin International Airport.
On Saturday, an evacuation flight from Kuala Lumpur with 177 evacuees reached Trichy. The Centre started operation Vande Bharat Mission to bring back around 14,800 stranded Indians from 12 countries on 64 AI flights. India began phased repatriation of its citizens stranded abroad during the coronavirus crisis from May 7. (ANI)

Vande Bharat Mission: 178 Indians land in Amritsar from Dubai
New Delhi [India], May 13 (ANI): Air India special flight on Wednesday brought back 178 stranded Indians from Dubai to Amritsar, said Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
“I am very happy that 178 stranded and distressed Indian citizens of Punjab have returned on AirIndia Express flight to Guru Nagri Sri Amritsar Sahib from Dubai,” Puri tweeted. India began phased repatriation of its citizens stranded abroad from May 7 under Vande Bharat Mission.
