Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 24 (ANI): A team of officials from the Dindigul District administration along with various other departments, including revenue and geology launched an investigation and inspected the land fissure that developed in Kilvara village here.
Dravidra Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLA IP Senthil Kumar said that he went along with the Dindigul MP and inspected the site on Monday along with the government officials.
Speaking to ANI, Kumar said, “The canal terrain was a major track, so the people are panicking. Our Dindigul MP and I inspected the place along with the government officials gathered today, and we have investigated the place. We are waiting for the report of the geological department, and necessary action will be taken according to that report.”
He said that the reports from the geological department are expected by this weekend and appealed to the people not to panic.

CPI Marxist and Dindigul MP Sachithanantham R said that there was no landslide yet and cracks have developed in the land as per the preliminary reports.
Speaking to ANI, he said, “There has been no landslide that has happened. There are only cracks in the land, as per the preliminary report of the geological department. Only 42 meters of the land have been affected. We are waiting for the final report, and the necessary action will be taken as per the final report. The local MLA and I inspected the spot and we will report to the government. There is no problem, we appeal to the people to be safe.” (ANI)
