Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 20 (ANI): Three terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The encounter broke out in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have identified the terrorists involved as members of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The encounter ensued between the terrorists and the security forces at the Munjh Marg area of the Shopian district in the Kashmir region. Reportedly, the encounter is still underway.
Two out of the three slain terrorists have already been identified by Police. The identification of the third is still on.
“Among the two neutralized local terrorists, two have been identified as Lateef Lone of the Shopian district, who had been involved in the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit Purana Krishna Bhat and the other is Umer Nazir of Anantnag, involved in the killing of Till Bahadur Thapa from Nepal,” said the Additional Director General of Kashmir Police.
One AK-47 rifle and two pistols were recovered from the terrorists, said the Additional Director General of Kashmir Police. (ANI)
1 killed, 10 injured in road accident due to heavy fog in Uttar Pradesh
Gautam Buddh Nagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 20 (ANI): One person is reportedly killed and at least 10 people are injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar when a bus collided with a container vehicle due to heavy fog in Dankaur area early Tuesday, police said.
The bus was carrying 60 passengers. The injured have been rushed to a hospital, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police said. More details are awaited. (ANI)
Hyderabad: AIMIM corporator’s nephew attacked by unknown man, dies
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 20 (ANI): The nephew of an All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator was killed after being attacked allegedly by an unknown person at the party office. The incident took place at the AIMIM Corporator’s office at Lalitha Bagh in Hyderabad’s Old City.
The nephew of the AIMIM corporator was taken to the hospital, but died on arrival. MD Amjad Ali, the inspector of Bhavani Nagar, told ANI that the nephew of an AIMIM corporator was attacked by an unknown person. “An unknown person attacked the nephew of an AIMIM corporator at the AIMIM Corporator’s office at Lalitha Bagh in Hyderabad’s Old City. He later died in the hospital,” he said. (ANI)
