Tel Aviv [Israel], November 4 (ANI/TPS): Israeli airstrikes eliminated a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist who participated in the October 7 attacks and a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon and the Israel Defense Forces announced on Monday morning.
In Gaza, the Air Force killed Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military intelligence unit who participated in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Kfar Aza where at least 52 Israelis were massacred.
Soldiers continued operations in the Rafah area of southern Gaza. During the last day, troops identified a terrorist squad operating within a military structure where landmines intended for attacks on IDF troops were being stored. Soldiers directed an airstrike, killing the terrorists and destroying the weapons.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, an airstrike killed Abu Ali Rida, who commanded Hezbollah forces in the southern Lebanese area of Baraachit. The IDF said he was responsible for planning and executing rocket and anti-tank missile attacks against troops while overseeing the activities of the terror group’s local operatives.
Israeli troops continued raids in southern Lebanon, killing terrorists, locating weapons and dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure. In one incident, soldiers struck a terrorist hiding inside a structure near the Israeli border. Numerous secondary explosions were seen, indicating the presence of weapons, the IDF said.
After the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023, Hezbollah began firing rockets and launching drones at northern Israel communities daily. More than 68,000 residents of northern Israel are displaced from their homes. Hezbollah leaders have repeatedly said they would continue the attacks to prevent Israelis from returning to their homes.
According to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War, the terror group is forbidden from operating in southern Lebanon.
At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 97 remaining hostages, more than 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also been holding captive two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014. Israel Defense Forces arrest terror operative in Syria
Jerusalem [Israel], November 4 (ANI/TPS): Israeli forces entered Syria to arrest a terror operative who was working with Iranian agents, the Israel Defense Forces disclosed on Sunday evening.
Soldiers from the elite Egoz commando unit arrested Ali Suleiman al-Aadi, a Syrian national living in the southern town of Saida. According to the IDF, al-Aadi gathered intelligence on Israeli forces by the border for future terror activity. The IDF said al-Aadwas under surveillance and is now in Israel for interrogation.
“The IDF will continue to work for the security of the borders and will not allow the establishment of the Iranian axis and the directing of hostile sabotage activity from southern Syria,” the army said.
The IDF also released footage of al-Aadi telling his interrogators how he was recruited by Iran.
“We sat together on the fence. [He] looked around like this and said, ‘Your area is good from a strategic point of view. We could profit from it,'” al-Aadi said.
The Iranian agent worked under the disguise of a Syrian military intelligence officer who was interested in the movements of Israeli border patrols.
“He said he was from military intelligence, but in fact, Iran was behind him. From what I understand he belongs to Iran,” al-Aadi said.
In recent days, Iranian officials have escalated their rhetoric about attacking after the Israeli Air Force struck military bases and air defence systems on October 26.
“The enemies, both the US and the Zionist regime (Israel), should know that they will definitely receive a teeth-breaking response for what they are doing against Iran and the resistance front,” Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini said on Saturday.
Middle East media reports suggest Iran’s next strike might take place before the US elections on Tuesday, and that Tehran’s proxy terror groups in Iraq and Yemen will participate.
The IDF‘s announcement comes amid a visit by US Central Command’s Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla for talks with Israeli military leaders, and America’s deployment of B-52 Stratofortress bombers in the Middle East. (ANI/TPS)
Israel withdraws recognition of UNRWA
Israel withdrew its recognition of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon tweeted on Monday morning.
Danon tweeted a copy of a letter notifying Secretary General Antonio Guterres. The development follows up on the Knesset passing legislation barring Israeli officials from cooperating with the embattled UN agency.
“Following the legislation on UNRWA, the State of Israel officially notified the President of the General Assembly of the termination of cooperation with the agency,” Danon tweeted.
“Despite the overwhelming evidence we submitted to the UN that substantiate Hamas’ infiltration of UNRWA, the UN did nothing to rectify the situation. The State of Israel will continue to cooperate with humanitarian organizations but not with organizations that promote terrorism against us.”
UNRWA has been under fire for months, with Israeli officials demanding the agency be stripped of its authority in Gaza and defunded amid revelations that members of the agency’s staff participated in Hamas’s October 7 attacks.
Palestinian refugees are the only refugee population with its own dedicated UN agency. The rest of the world’s refugees fall under the mandate of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
More than 100 survivors of Hamas’s October 7 attacks filed a $1 billion lawsuit against UNRWA in June, accusing the agency of “aiding and abetting” the terror group. According to the suit, the lead plaintiff, 84-year-old Ditza Heiman of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was held captive for seven weeks in the home of a Palestinian man who said he was a UNRWA teacher at a boy’s school.
Israel‘s largest bank froze UNRWA’s account in February over suspicious financial transfers that the agency failed to adequately explain. That same month, Israeli forces discovered a Hamas complex located directly under the UNRWA’s Gaza City headquarters and connected directly to the agency’s electricity system. The facility included numerous computer servers belonging to the terror group.
UNRWA was also ordered to vacate its Jerusalem offices in May over lease violations.
