It may be wise to keep hatred at bay
E’en for a foe whom you loathe,
Feasting on hatred is folly for sure,
’twill wreck you beyond you can mend
It doesn’t help a man who seeks revenge.
Go to bed each night serene
Retribution delivers no delight
But keeps your sores fresh and alive
How does it aggrandize yourself
To harm a friend with cruel pursuit
He who satiate his lust for revenge
Plotting harm on others lacks tact
Because rancor knows no bounds,
It mostly boomerangs on you
You may be the victim trapped in the hole
you have hollowed out for your foe!
Even if you have no heart for others
But for the love of yourself
Cast aside your ardor for spite
Refrain from ruining your life
Love is the best form of revenge
It might seem hard at first, still
With deeds of love and forgiving spirit
You will conquer yourself and the world!
