Tel Aviv [Israel], December 10 (ANI): Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Sunday accused Hamas terrorists of beating civilians and stealing the humanitarian aid that Gaza received from international organisations. The IDF stated that Hamas puts its terrorist goals over the needs of Gaza residents. IDF shared a video on X that showed people getting beaten by some individuals. In the video, some individuals also placed some material in the vehicle.
While sharing the video on X, the IDF stated, “Hamas members beat civilians and steal the humanitarian aid they received from international organizations–facilitated by Israel. Hamas puts its terrorist goals over Gazans’ needs.”
Meanwhile, the IDF said Al-Mawasi is the humanitarian zone in Gaza, meant to keep people away from the battlefield. However, it added that Hamas keeps placing Gaza in the line of fire. In a post shared on X, IDF stated, “Al-Mawasi is the humanitarian zone in Gaza, meant to keep civilians away from the battlefield. But Hamas keeps putting Gazans in the line of fire. They fire dozens of rockets from the designated humanitarian zone, rockets that often misfire and put even more Gazans at risk.”
On Saturday, the IDF said Hamas terrorists were using school and a mosque in Beit Hanoun to fire at IDF forces. Taking to X, IDF wrote, “Once again, we see Hamas terrorists abuse civilian infrastructure to fire at IDF forces. This time–an @UNRWA school and a mosque in Beit Hanoun.”
Meanwhile, IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said many Hamas members surrendered to troops in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, The Times of Israel reported. He said Hamas members have shared intelligence information on the terror group’s functioning amid Israel‘s ground offensive. He said that terrorists who surrendered in Shejaiya and Jabaliya handed over weapons and equipment.
Hagari said, “From the interrogations of the terrorists who surrendered, the following intelligence has emerged: The situation of the operatives on the ground is difficult, and the Hamas leadership, led by [Yahya] Sinwar, denies the reality even though it is updated on the details.”
He said, “The operatives complain that the Hamas leadership is out of touch with the tough situation they are in on the ground,” according to The Times of Israel report. Hagari noted there is a “widespread feeling that Hamas leadership underground does not care about the public in Gaza who are above ground.” He said that this development has caused worry among Hamas operatives.
Hagari said, “The intelligence that emerges from the interrogations creates more targets and aids us in the operational activity.” Furthermore, IDF on Saturday that a Hamas tunnel shaft was uncovered in a classroom that leads to a mosque in Shuja’iyya. “Hamas tunnel shaft uncovered INSIDE a classroom that leads to a mosque in the heart of Shuja’iyya. Hamas‘ abuse of schools has turned children’s safe havens into terrorist hideouts,” IDF posted on X. (ANI)
Israel-Hamas war: Decomposed bodies of infants found in evacuated hospital ICU in Gaza
Gaza Border [Israel], December 9 (ANI): Decomposed bodies of infants were found in the evacuated ICU of Al-Nasr Hospital in Gaza, shedding light on the tragic aftermath of the conflict, CNN reported. The distressing scene was captured on video by Mohamed Baalousha, a Gaza-based reporter, revealing the tiny bodies of babies, still attached to life-saving equipment in their beds. The footage, dated November 27, displayed the remains of at least four infants, some reduced to little more than skeletons.
The circumstances leading to this harrowing discovery are complex. Al-Nasr and Al-Rantisi children’s hospitals, part of the same complex, became the battleground between Israeli and Hamas forces in early November. Hospital staff, under Israeli direction, hastily evacuated on November 10, leaving behind young children in the ICU who could not be safely moved, as reported by CNN.
Conflicting accounts emerged about the status of the infants at the time of evacuation. A doctor associated with the hospital reported that two children had died just before the evacuation, while three others, including a two-month-old, were left alive but without adequate care. The exact condition of the infants left behind remains uncertain.
Dr Mustafa al-Kahlout, head of both paediatric hospitals, highlighted the dire situation in a video on November 9, citing damage to the hospital and the cut-off of oxygen to the ICU. Despite pleas for intervention from international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the hospital faced significant challenges, with ambulances unable to reach the facility amid ongoing hostilities.
An audio recording between a hospital official and an officer from COGAT, coordinating Israeli activities in the region, suggested an agreement for evacuation. However, ambulances purportedly never arrived, forcing families and hospital staff to evacuate independently. Reports indicate that Al-Nasr staff faced IDF instructions to leave within a short timeframe, walking out with white flags and vulnerable patients.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) vehemently denied responsibility for the infants‘ deaths, labelling the allegations as false and a distortion of facts. Questions persist about the failure of promised ambulances and awareness of infants left in the ICU. Despite IDF spokesman Doron Spielman dismissing the accounts as a “rumour” during an online Q&A, the circumstances surrounding the infants‘ fate remain a matter of contention.
The Gaza Ministry of Health, under Hamas control, accused the IDF of ordering the evacuation and falsely promising ICRC assistance. The ICRC clarified that it was not involved in any operations or evacuations due to the security situation.
The tragic footage, described as an “unspeakable tragedy” by the ICRC, has prompted calls for neutral entities to verify the use of hospitals for civilian and humanitarian purposes. Forensic analysis of the video suggested advanced decomposition of the infants in situ, raising questions about the circumstances and urgency of the evacuation, CNN reported. (ANI)
Israeli hostage in Gaza killed in captivity
Tel Aviv [Israel], December 10 (ANI/TPS): Sahar Baruch, a 25 year-old Israeli who was taken hostage on October 7 has died in captivity, Kibbutz Be’eri announced on Saturday of its former resident. “It is with great sadness and a broken heart that we announce the murder of Sahar Baruch who was kidnapped from his home by Hamas terrorists to Gaza on Black Saturday and murdered there,” the kibbutz said in a joint statement with the Hostages and Missing Families Forum.
“His brother Idan was murdered by Hamas on October 7. We share in the unbearable grief of his parents, Tami and Roni, his brothers, Guy and Niv, his family and all his loved ones. We will demand the return of his body as part of any hostage return deal. We will not stop until everyone is at home.”
The announcement was made in response to a propaganda video released by Hamas on Friday claiming Baruch had been killed during an Israeli attempt to rescue hostages. The Israel Defense Forces denied Hamas‘s claim and said Baruch was murdered by the terror group.
Baruch was an engineering student at Ben Gurion University. His brother, Idan, and his grandmother, Geula Bachar, were among the 100 residents of Be’eri massacred by Hamas on October 7.
At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas‘s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Hamas currently holds 137 men, women, children, soldiers and foreigners captive in Gaza. Some people remain unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains. (ANI/TPS)
