Jaipur (Rajasthan) August 22 (ANI): On the occasion of International Senior Citizen Day, National Senior Citizen Award was organised in Jaipur. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot attended the event and said that the state government is taking decisions with commitment and sensitivity to provide social security to the senior citizens of the state. He expressed that Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana has empowered senior citizens and work has been done to make them worry-free from the cost of illness in old age. Along with that, the Chief Minister underlined that with the formation of the Senior Citizens Welfare Board, the State Government is also fulfilling the wishes of thousands of senior citizens by providing them free pilgrimage under the ‘Senior Citizens Tirth Yatra Scheme’. On this occasion, Chief Minister Gehlot has urged the Prime Minister that the amount of social security pension being given by the Central Government should be increased according to inflation, so that crores of senior citizens of the country can get support.
