Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 9 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Sunday claimed that incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will lose upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls if they contest the elections without misusing government machinery or manipulating voting machinery.
“Fear of the Election Commission is necessary in the government machinery. EC must ensure free and fair elections…BJP will lose this election if they will not misuse government machinery and not manipulate the voting machines,” said Mayawati while addressing a press conference here today.
Meanwhile, she will also chair a high-level meet of party officials in Lucknow on Sunday to finalize the party’s candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. “Assembly polls in all the five states must be held peacefully. Police administration must work without bias. The people of Uttar Pradesh should vote for development. Our party will follow all guidelines of EC. I will chair a high-level meeting of party officials today regarding the final selection of candidates,” said Mayawati.
