A New Dawn for America: Trump Begins His New Term With a Flurry of Executive Orders
Shortly after being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, President Trump signed approximately 200 executive orders (EOs) and rescinded 78 EOs from former President Joe Biden, effectively dismantling what he described as a globalist-driven legacy. These new directives included measures against government overreach, protections for free speech, full pardons for 1,500 individuals detained in connection with the January 6 Capitol events, and sentence commutations for 14 others accused of inciting violence against law enforcement.
“Drill, Baby, Drill”: Reviving U.S. Energy Dominance
President Trump launched an aggressive initiative to expand oil drilling on federal lands, aiming to make the United States the leading global producer of fossil fuels and a dominant oil exporter. On the campaign trail, he accused the Biden administration of stifling economic growth through restrictive fossil fuel policies in favor of green energy initiatives.
True to his word, Trump signed EOs rescinding restrictions on fossil fuel production and canceling what he termed “unreliable green energy programs.” He also issued an order banning electric vehicle mandates, drawing criticism from climate change activists but applause from advocates of traditional fuel-powered vehicles. Additionally, he withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Accord, calling it a globalist ploy to control personal freedoms under the guise of combating climate change.
Breaking Ties with the WHO
President Trump withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO), citing the organization’s increasing alignment with China and what he called its failure to act in America’s best interests. Under his directive, the U.S. will no longer fund the WHO, reversing the Biden administration’s decision to reinstate financial support.
Dismantling DEI Initiatives
In a move targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives introduced under President Biden, Trump signed an EO banning all such programs within federal agencies and contractors. He argued that DEI policies undermine merit-based hiring and promotion, claiming they have impeded progress in fields such as academics, journalism, the military, and government administration. This decision follows the Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling striking down affirmative action in college admissions. President Trump emphasized the importance of meritocracy and ordered all federal entities to prioritize qualifications and performance over identity-based considerations.
Affirming Traditional Gender Definitions
Another significant EO declared the recognition of only two genders—male and female—by the U.S. government. This policy halts initiatives supporting gender fluidity and transgender rights, which Trump claimed were harmful to children and families. His administration has also sought to restrict gender-affirming medical procedures for minors, citing concerns over irreversible harm. Many supporters view this move as a restoration of traditional values, while critics argue it undermines the rights of transgender individuals.
Confronting BRICS and Protecting the U.S. Dollar
President Trump issued a stern warning to the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) against efforts to reduce the dominance of the U.S. dollar in global trade. Any attempt to de-dollarize, he stated, would result in severe economic consequences, including a 100% tariff on their exports to the U.S. and potential exclusion from the American market. This EO aims to preserve the dollar’s role as the world’s reserve currency.
Securing the Southern Border
Addressing border security, President Trump signed an EO shutting down the southern border to unauthorized entry, initiating mass deportations of individuals who entered the U.S. illegally. Another EO designated Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, empowering federal agencies to crack down on cartel activities within U.S. borders. Former ICE director Tom Homan, now serving as Border Czar, has already begun efforts to deport millions of criminal aliens.
A Bold Agenda to Dismantle the “Deep State”
Through these executive orders, President Trump has set out to reverse Biden-era policies and curb what he calls “deep state” interference. Declaring his resolve to overcome bureaucratic obstacles, he has pledged to deliver on his ambitious agenda and restore power to the American people. As he assured his supporters during the campaign, this term marks a new era of bold, decisive leadership.
