Dindori (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 2 (ANI): Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Dindori district has taken a disciplinary action against the officer and employees responsible for allegedlly forcing a woman to clean blood-stained hospital bed after husband’s death at Primary Health Center Gadasarai.
CMHO Dr Ramesh Maravi on Saturday suspended a nursing officer posted at Primary Health Center Gadasarai, Rajkumari Markar and a nanny (Aaya) Chhoti Bai Thakur with immediate effect while medical Officer posted at the Health Center, Chandrashekhar Singh has been transferred to Community Health Center Karanjiya till further orders.
A notice issued for the same dated November 2, read, “According to the viral video on social media on October 31, the wife of a deceased was found to be cleaning the hospital bed in the Primary Health Center Gadasarai. Despite the arrangement of cleaning facilities in Primary Health Center Gadasarai along with other health institutions in the district through outsourcing, it is unfortunate that the wife of a deceased was made to clean the hospital bed.”
Additionally, the reply to the show cause notice issued dated November 1 was not received within the time limit/was not found satisfactory. As a result of which, disciplinary action was taken against the accountable officer and employees responsible for the said inhuman incident, the letter further added.
According to the information, a man and his three sons were hit with a sharp edge weapon (axe) in a tribal-dominated Lalpur village in Dindori district on Thursday (October 31) over a land dispute. The man identified as Dharam Singh Maravi (60) and one of his sons, Shivraj Maravi (30) died on the spot while two others Raghuraj Maravi (27) and Ramraj Maravi (23) were rushed to the Health Centre Gadasarai. Later Raghuraj also succumbed to injuries while Ramraj is undergoing treatment.
During this, the wife of the man was allegedly made to clean the hospital bed and a video also surfaced on social media in which the woman was seen cleaning the hospital bed.
After the video went viral, a show cause notice was issued to the officers concerned and sought a reply from them.
Besides, a case was registered against seven people under relevant sections in connection with the attack on the family at Gadasarai police station. The police arrested four accused in the matter and efforts were underway to arrest the remaining three accused, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jagarnath singh Markam. (ANI)
