Beirut [Lebanon], September 29 (ANI): Hezbollah has officially acknowledged the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, following Israeli strikes on Beirut, according to a report by CNN.
Hezbollah said on Saturday that its leader Nasrallah “has joined his fellow martyrs.” The group also vowed that it would “continue the holy war against the enemy and in support of Palestine,” Al Jazeera reported.
The Israeli Defence Forces launched precision strikes on the Lebanese capital on Beirut on Friday, which led to the death of Nasrallah.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that the airstrikes targeting Hassan Nasrallah resulted in civilian casualties, with at least six people killed and dozens injured.
Meanwhile, Lebanon launched an attack on Israeli territory following the assassination of its leader, Nasrallah.
In a post on X, IDF said, “Sirens sounded in the area of Jerusalem following a launch from Lebanon into Israeli territory.”

In a statement, the IDF said, “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorise the world.”
Nasrallah was targeted at Hezbollah’s main headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold known as the Dahiyeh, on Friday. The headquarters is underground, beneath residential buildings in the Dahiyeh, according to the IDF.
Meanwhile, following the death of Nasrallah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Iran’s Ayatollah regime and asserted that those who target Israel will face consequences and that no location in Iran or the Middle East is beyond Israel’s reach.
Netanyahu called Nasrallah as “main engine of Iran’s axis of evil” and added, “Nasrallah was not just another terrorist, he was the terrorist. He was the axis of the axis, the main engine of Iran’s axis of evil. He and his people were the architects of the plan to destroy Israel. He was not only operated by Iran, he also frequently operated Iran.”
He further said, “All those who oppose the axis of evil, all those who are fighting under the violent dictatorship of Iran and its proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Iran itself and other places, they are all filled with hope today. I say to the citizens of those countries: Israel stands with you. And to the ayatollahs’ regime, I say: Those who strike us, we strike them. There is no place in Iran or the Middle East that the long arm of Israel cannot reach. Today, you already know that this is correct.” (ANI)
“Most justified counter-terrorism actions Israel has ever taken,” Israel Foreign Minister lauds killing of Hezbollah leader
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Israel Katz on Saturday said that the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah leader, is one of the most justified counter-terrorism actions Israel has ever taken.
Katz lauded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials behind the activity and said that they will continue to safeguard Israel’s safety.
In a post on X, Katz said, “The elimination of arch-terrorist Nasrallah is one of the most justified counter-terrorism actions Israel has ever taken. Nasrallah, who dedicated his life to the destruction of Israel and led over 30 years of terror activity against Israel, including in recent days, deserved to be taken down, and it’s a good thing he was. I commend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for initiating this bold action, the Defense Minister and cabinet members for approving it, and the Chief of Staff and the IDF for their brilliant planning and execution. We will continue to safeguard Israel’s security.”

“Those who threaten Israeli civilians will be found and eliminated whether it’s near or far. Just as we are prepared for this precise attack, we are prepared for many other scenarios,” he added.

“Hezbollah leader Nasrallah’s death justice for victims”: US President Biden
Washington DC [US], September 29 (ANI): US President Joe Biden on Friday spoke about Hezbollah and its leader Hassan Nasrallah and said they were responsible for killing Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians over several decades. He also said that Nasrallah’s death “is a measure of justice for his many victims.”
In a statement, Biden said, “Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror. His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.”
The statement further said, “The strike that killed Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas’s massacre on October 7, 2023. Nasrallah, the next day, made the fateful decision to join hands with Hamas and open what he called a “northern front” against Israel.”
Biden reaffirmed the US commitment to supporting Israel‘s right to self-defence against threats from Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and other groups backed by Iran.
“The United States fully supports Israel‘s right to defend itself against Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and any other Iranian-supported terrorist groups. Just yesterday, I directed my Secretary of Defense to further enhance the defence posture of US military forces in the Middle East region to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a broader regional war,” Biden said.
Biden also reiterated the administration’s commitment to resolving the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon through diplomatic efforts. He said, “Ultimately, our aim is to de-escalate the ongoing conflicts in both Gaza and Lebanon through diplomatic means. In Gaza, we have been pursuing a deal backed by the UN Security Council for a ceasefire and the release of hostages.”
He added, “In Lebanon, we have been negotiating a deal that would return people safely to their homes in Israel and southern Lebanon. It is time for these deals to close, for the threats to Israel to be removed, and for the broader Middle East region to gain greater stability.”
