Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 3 (ANI): Coming hard on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for saying Pakistan is eager to make Rahul Gandhi PM, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday asked, “Indians are going to vote, where did Pakistan come from?”
“PM Narendra Modi is a good orator. He said the people of Pakistan are trying to elect Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister. What does he mean? Indians are going to vote, where did Pakistan come from? We are not like him who goes and hugs the Pakistan Prime Minister uninvited. After doing this himself, he is blaming others. Congress has people who are ready to die for the country,” Kharge said.
Prime Minister Modi on Thursday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that Pakistan wants him as the next Prime Minister in order to have a weak government in power.
The PM said at a rally in Gujarat’s Anand district, “In India, the Congress party is weakening, meaning that even with a microscope, it’s becoming difficult to find the party. But the interesting part is that while the Congress is dying here, Pakistan is crying there. Pakistani politicians are “praying” for the Congress. Pakistan is eager to make the ‘shehzada’ (referring to Rahul Gandhi) the Prime Minister.”
Further, Mallikarjunj Kharge said that wherever he is touring, it is clear that this time people want Modi government out.
“Wherever I go, the MLAs and party workers are saying that this time there is a change. Today there is high inflation for which the government has no answer. People are very angry with this. PM had promised to provide two crore jobs to the unemployed every year. There are more than 30 lakh permanent posts in the government that are also not being filled. They know that if they do it, they will have to give 50 per cent posts to SC and STs. This intention of theirs shows that their attention is not towards the poor. They only talk big and when the time comes to give something, they don’t give it,” he said.
The Congress National President also pointed out that the gap between the rich and the poor is increasing and the government has no solution to improve it.
“In his time, Pandit Nehru framed policies, set up big factories and planned to provide jobs. Modi ji could not do this in these 10 years. Modi ji spent these 10 years by speaking emotionally but this time the poor and the youth are understanding everything,” Kharge said.
“We did not give any guarantee during our tenure. But still Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi gave Right to Work, MGNREGA. Manmohan Singh had not given this as his guarantee. We brought things like Right to Education, Food and Securities Act. He (PM Modi) talks big and give nothing,” Kharge added. (ANI)
