Nuh (Haryana) [India], December 21 (ANI): Congress’ ongoing mass movement ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi entered Haryana on Wednesday and it resumed from Patan Udaipur village in Nuh district. People in large numbers were seen joining the march holding banners and party flags. The Yatra will take a break in Ferozepur Jhirka at 10:30 and will move to Bhadas Nagina, the party officials said.
Addressing the gatherings here, Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and other parties and said that the leaders of these parties do not listen to the public. “Nowadays, there is a gap between the leaders of BJP, Samajwadi Party, and the public. Leaders think that there is no need to listen to the public and give speeches for hours. We have tried to change this in this journey,” Gandhi said before starting the yatra from Nuh. The foot march observed its last in the Congress-ruled state on Tuesday.
Rajasthan was the only Congress-ruled state where the yatra covered around 500 km over 17 days before entering Haryana. Bharat Jodo Yatra will reach the National capital on December 24.
Congress MP and party General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh on Monday tweeted the complete schedule of the BJY’s Delhi leg. It will start from Delhi’s Babarpur Metro station on December 24 at 6 am and will reach Ashram Chowk at 10.30 am.
Congress MP and party General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh on Monday tweeted the complete schedule of the BJY’s Delhi leg. There will be a lunch break at Ashram Chowk and will resume from there at 1.30 pm will go from Mathura Road to India Gate and ITO and will finally reach Red Fort.
Yatra will end at Red Fort with the address of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

BJP is looking for a reason to stop Bharat Jodo Yatra: Chattishgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 21 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday hit out at the Centre and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was looking for a reason to stop Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“They (BJP) are looking for new ways to stop the Yatra. If COVID spreads in the country, Yatra will be impacted. But if it is not the case now, why are they looking for new excuses?” Baghel said.
CM Baghel was reacting to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya‘s letter to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in which he asked them to follow COVID protocol during the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, or the Yatra could be cancelled amid concerns over rising cases of Covid-19.
He said, “When there was Corona, you (BJP) held elections in West Bengal, Assam and Uttar Pradesh. Now you’re making excuses to stop Yatra.” “During the Covid-19 pandemic, elections were conducted in Bengal, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh. Then there was no issue. If Covid situation gets worse, the party will take the decision about Yatra. What’s the point of creating hue and cry now, when there is no alarming situation?” said Baghel while speaking to the reporters on Wednesday.
Union Minister Mandaviya wrote a letter to Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot asking them to ensure compliance of the COVID-19 safety guidelines strictly during the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. “Follow the COVID guidelines strictly during Bharat Jodo Yatra which is going on in Rajasthan. Use of masks-sanitiser should be implemented. Only vaccinated people should participate,” the Health Minister said in the letter written on Tuesday.
In the letter, the Union Health Minister also requests that if following COVID protocol is not possible then the Bharat Jodo Yatra be postponed in the national interest, taking note of the public health emergency. (ANI)
BJP scared of the love Bharat Jodo Yatra has received: Congress leader Pawan Khera
Delhi/Haryana [India], December 22 (ANI): Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asking them to follow COVID-19 guidelines strictly during the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has elicited diverse reactions from leaders.
Talking about the issue, Congress leader Pawan Khera said BJP is scared of the love Bharat Jodo Yatra has received.
He said, “Their intent is clear. They are only bothered about the love the Yatra has received.”
He also added, “If BJP was worried about the country, they would have written a letter to Satish Poonia as well who is taking out ‘Jan Aakrosh Yatra’ in Rajasthan.”
Talking about the same, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, “If the government issues Covid protocols, we will follow it.” He was speaking at a Press conference of Congress leader Jairam Ramesh as Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Haryana on Wednesday. (ANI)
“PM Modi govt alarmed by huge turnout in Bharat Jodo Yatra, so writing…” Ashok Gehlot on Mandaviya’s letter to Rahul Gandhi on COVID protocol
Dausa (Rajasthan) [India], December 21 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday claimed that the letter written to him and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi by Mansukh Mandaviya regarding following the COVID protocol during the Bharat Jodo Yatra is because the BJP has been “alarmed” at the popularity of the foot march in the state. “The BJP and the Modi government are so alarmed by the huge turnout in the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan that they are writing letters to Rahul Gandhi to follow the Covid-19 protocol in Rajasthan,” Gehlot said while talking to the reporters.
The Chief Minister said that the move by the Health Minister clearly shows that BJP’s aim is to disturb the Yatra. “Upset with the rising public support for Bharat Jodo Yatra, BJP’s aim is to disturb it,” he further said. He further accused that the step of writing the letter was not in the interest of the public but “politically motivated”. “PM Modi did rallies in Tripura two days ago where no COVID protocols were followed. During the second wave of COVID also, PM had mass rallies in West Bengal. If the Union Health Minister’s objective is not political and his concern is justified, then he should have written the first letter to the Prime Minister,” Gehlot said.
Gehlot’s comment came after Mandaviya wrote a letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Gehlot asking to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly during the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Health Minister wrote, “Follow the COVID guidelines strictly during Bharat Jodo Yatra which is going on in Rajasthan. Use of masks-sanitiser should be implemented. Only vaccinated people should participate.”
Mandaviya has also requested to postpone the foot march if the following protocol is impossible.
“If following COVID protocol is not possible then the Bharat Jodo Yatra be postponed in the national interest, taking note of the public health emergency,” the letter further stated. Notably, the Yatra observed its last day in Rajasthan on Tuesday and entered Haryana today. (ANI)
