Patna (Bihar) [India], October 10 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences on the death of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday and said that the latter’s death is an irreparable loss to the nation. “His death is an irreparable loss to the nation. He was a great socialist leader. He was also the Defense Minister of the country. He was one of the effective voices fighting for the rights of the poor,” Kumar tweeted.
In another tweet, Kumar said he had a personal attachment with the SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“His important contribution to the development of Uttar Pradesh and the country will always be remembered. We had a personal attachment to him. His death deeply saddens me. May God rest his soul and give strength to his family to bear patience,” the Bihar CM added. Meanwhile, the Bihar government declared one-day state mourning on Monday on the death of former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away at a Gurugram Hospital on Monday aged 82. The SP leader was in critical condition for the past few days.
Tejashwi Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar also expressed his grief over Yadav’s demises. “I express my deepest condolences and condolences on the passing away of a respected leader, SP Patron Shri Mulayam Singh Ji. He was an efficient administrator, eminent socialist and popular politician. His death has caused an irreparable loss in the political and social sphere of the country,” Tejashwi Yadav tweeted. Talking to reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said that he had a personal relationship with the SP founder. “I had gone to Medanta Hospital along with my father Lalu Prasad Yadav Ji to meet Mulayam Singh Yadav. The news of his demise is extremely saddening for all of us. It is a great loss for the country. We have a familiar relationship with Netaji and his family,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a three-day state mourning and said the veteran leader’s last rites would be conducted with full state honors. For a long time, the veteran SP leader politician had remained synonymous with the politics of the state. He saw UP go through many ups and downs during his five-decade-long career. The last rite of the leader will be conducted in his ancestral village.(ANI)
KCR, YS Jagan Reddy express grief over Mulayam Singh Yadav’s death
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 10 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed grief over the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday, saying the veteran politician worked for the welfare of the poor all his life. Conveying his deepest condolences to Mulayam Singh’s son Akhilesh Yadav and family members, Rao said the Samajwadi party founder was a secularist who came into politics with the inspiration of great leaders like Ram Manohar Lohia and Raj Narayan, according to an official statement.
The Telangana CM added that Mulayam Singh worked for the welfare of the poor and weaker sections throughout his life. Janata Dal (Secular) national president H D Devegowda also condoled Mulayam Singh’s death. “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of my long-time colleague and friend Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. My condolences to his family and followers. He was deeply committed to secular and socialist political traditions. Will miss him very much,” he tweeted.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, too, expressed grief. He said “Netaji” has played an important role in national politics and was revered by marginalized sections and minorities. According to an official statement, Jagan Reddy conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
TDP leader and former Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called Mulayam Singh a “gentleman” and added the SP chief was an “OBC stalwart”. “Deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji. I lost a dear brother today. Over 4 decades, I have had the fortune of spending plenty of time with the OBC stalwart who always impressed me with his charm, humility & deep understanding of Indian politics,” tweeted Naidu. “A rare gentleman, he was polite, and quietly went about achieving his socialist goals that transformed the lives of millions, becoming a much-loved mass leader in the journey. Deepest condolences to Yadav Akhilesh Ji, his family and the people of Uttar Pradesh. Om Shanthi,” he added.
Expressing grief over the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said the veteran leader‘s contributions to the nation will be remembered for years to come.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, fondly called “netaji”, died at a hospital in Gurugram due to age-related ailments on Monday. He was 82. “Netaji was dear to all. He devoted his life to Uttar Pradesh and the nation. His demise is a great loss to the country. His contributions to the nation will be remembered for many years to come. Om Shanti,” Goyal said.
Amit Shah visits Medanta, pays tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav
New Delhi [India], October 10 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah was one of the first politicians to reach Medanta Hospital in Haryana’s Gurugram where Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on Monday.
Laying a wreath on the mortal remains of the veteran leader, Shah expressed condolences to Mulayam’s family members, including son and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
“Mulayam Singh Yadav ji remained active in politics for decades with his unique political skills. During the Emergency, he raised his voice for the restoration of democracy. He will always be remembered as a grassroots leader. His death marks the end of an era in Indian politics,” Shah tweeted in Hindi.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed pain on the demise of veteran politician Mulayam Singh Yadav and said that he played a “prominent role” in Uttar Pradesh politics for decades. Singh will go to Saifai in UP’s Etawah to attend the last rites of former UP CM Tuesday. Saifai is the birthplace of Mulayam Singh, who was born on November 22, 1939.
The veteran Samajwadi Party leader passed away while undergoing treatment at the Medanta Hospital at 8:16 am. Mulayam’s condition had been “quite critical” for the past few weeks and the Samajwadi Party patriarch was on life-saving drugs. Confirming the news of his father’s demise, Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, “Mere adarniya pitaji aur sabke netaji nahi rahe – Akhilesh Yadav.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of the 82-year-old leader and recollected his relationship with the veteran leader from the other side of the political spectrum. “Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was widely admired as a humble and grounded leader who was sensitive to people’s problems. He served people diligently and devoted his life towards popularising the ideals of Loknayak JP and Dr Lohia,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter.
President Droupadi Murmu also expressed grief on the demise of the Samajwadi Party patriarch and said that his death is an “irreparable loss” to the country. “The death of Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav is an irreparable loss to the country. The achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav ji, who came from an ordinary environment, were extraordinary. ‘Dharti Putra’ Mulayam ji was a down-to-earth veteran leader. He was respected by people of all parties. My deepest condolences to his family members and supporters!” the Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted.
Mulayam Singh served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice and has also served in the Union Government as the Minister of Defence. He was elected 10 times as MLA and seven times as Lok Sabha MP. (ANI)
