New Delhi [India], May 6 (ANI): The number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 49,391, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning.
This includes 33,514 active cases, and 1,694 deaths due to the infection so far. However, 14,182 persons have been cured and discharged so far, according to the Health Ministry. One patient has migrated.
Maharashtra with 15,525 cases is the worst-affected state, while Gujarat with 6,245 cases is second on the list. Delhi with 5,104 COVID-19 cases is the third most-affected by the infection. (ANI)Â
771 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Tamil Nadu today
Chennai (Tamil Nadu ) [India], May 6 (ANI): As many as 771 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, taking the total number of positive cases in the State to 4829, said State Health Department.
Two deaths have been reported today taking the death toll to 35. According to the Media Bulletin issued today by State’s Health Department, till now 1,88,241 samples have been taken and sent for testing. COVID-19 testing is done in 36 Government and 16 Private labs all over Tamil Nadu.
4,829 persons have tested positive till date and 1,82,541 samples were tested negative. Testing of 871 samples are under process. 9,769 samples are repeat samples while 1,516 COVID-19Â positive patients have been discharged following treatment till today. Hence, 3,275 active cases are under treatment as on today. (ANI)
68 new COVID-19 cases in Dharavi, one death
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 6 (ANI): Dharavi on Wednesday reported 68 new cases of coronavirus and one death due to the infection, informed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
So far Dharavi has recorded a total of 773 cases and 21 deaths due to COVID-19. According to the state health department, Maharashtra today recorded a total of 1233 new cases of coronavirus and 34 deaths. With this, the total tally of coronavirus cases in the state has reached 16,758 and the death toll stands at 651. (ANI)
17 new COVID-19 cases in Gurugram
Gurugram (Haryana) [India], May 6 (ANI): Gurugram on Wednesday reported 17 new cases of coronavirus , informed Health Department Gurugram.
Out of the total cases found positive today, 10 cases are linked to Azadpur Sabzi Mandi, New Delhi, four people came in contact with a positive case of Dundahera and the remaining three are health workers of Madaan hospital.
The Gurugram Health Department further informed that so far the district has recorded as many as 104 cases of coronavirus, out of which 53 are active cases and remaining 51 have been discharged. (ANI)Â
118 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in UP, total cases reach 2998
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 6 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Health Department on Wednesday said that 118 more COVID-19positive cases have reported in the State today, as of 6 pm. The total number of cases in the state is now at 2998, including 1808 active cases, 1130 discharged, and 60 deaths.
The total number of active cases in the State stands at 1808 while 1130 patients have been recovered so far. As many as 67 districts of UPÂ have confirmed COVID-19Â infected patients across the State so far while 60 people have succumbed to the disease. Meanwhile, India has reported 49,391 COVID-19Â positive cases so far, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. (ANI)
No COVID-19 positive case reported in Kerala; active cases now 30
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala ) [India], May 6 (ANI): Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday informed that no new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state today and that the total number of coronavirus cases is now at 502, including 30 active cases. “No COVID-19 positive case reported in Kerala today. Number of total cases in the state is at 502, including 30 active cases,” Vijayan said.
He also stated that eight districts of the state are COVID-19Â free. Vijayan informed that two flights – Abu Dhabi to Kochi and Dubai to Kozhikode – have been scheduled to bring back expats on Thursday.
He also stated that Kerala has demanded special non-stop trains to bring back students stranded in other states. “Sent letters to Chief Minister s of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on this.
About 1,200 students are stranded in these four states – 727 students in Delhi, 348 in Punjab, 89 in Haryana and 17 in Himachal Pradesh,” Vijayan said. The Chief Minister also shared that 6,082 persons have reached Kerala from other states.
“2.3 lakh people have registered to come back from other states. 69,108 have applied for passes. More registration from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. People coming back from hotspot zones should be in government arranged quarantine for seven days. Pregnant women will be permitted to go home,” he stated. (ANI)
 5 new COVID-19 cases in Odisha, total count rises to 185
Bhubaneswar (Odisha ) [India], May 6 (ANI): Five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Odisha taking the total number of cases in the state to 185. The state Health Deparment said that the count includes 122 active cases and 61 patients who have been cured or discharged. Two persons have died in the state due to the virus. The number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 49,391, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. (ANI)
