New Delhi [India], November 3 (ANI): In the recently announced bypolls results, it is a win-win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam, Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal and Congress in Himachal Pradesh. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance in Assam swept bypolls on all five seats on Tuesday.
The BJP bagged Thowra, Bhabanipur and Mariani Assembly seats while its ally United People’s Party, Liberal won Gossaigaon and Tumulpur Assembly seats.
In Mizoram, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) won the Tuirial Assembly seat.
In another Northeastern state Meghalaya, the ruling party, the National People’s Party (NPP) won Rajabala and Mawryngkneng Assembly seats while the United Democratic Party (UDP) bagged the Mawphlang Assembly seat in the bypolls.
Moving to central India, BJP registered victory in two out of three Assembly constituencies and Khandwa Lok Sabha seat. BJP candidates emerged victorious on Jobat and Prithvipur constituencies. On the other hand, Congress managed to win the Raigaon constituency.
In Haryana, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won the Ellenabad Assembly seat that went to bypolls on October 30.
In Bihar, the Janata Dal (United), a constituent of the ruling NDA retained both Tarapur and Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly seats.
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has won by-polls in all four assembly seats in West Bengal. TMC candidates won Dinhata, Santipur, Khardaha and Gosaba assembly with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trailing on the second position on all four seats.
In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling YSR Congress Party has retained the Badvel assembly constituency.
In the high-octane Huzurabad Assembly seat in Telangana, former cabinet minister and BJP leader Eatala Rajender won the bypolls. Rajender defeated his nearest rival, Telegu Desam Party’s Gellu Srinivas Yadav by a margin of 23,855 votes.
In Karnataka, BJP has won Sindgi Assembly bypolls while the party lost the Hangal seat to Congress.
In Himachal Pradesh, BJP faced a setback as the Congress party won three Assembly seats that went to bypolls on October 30. Congress also won the Mandi Parliamentary constituency.
Similarly, Congress swept the Rajasthan by-polls winning both Dhariawad and Vallabhnagar Assembly seats that went to by-elections. (ANI)
Bypoll results: Nadda says NDA govt committed to the development of common man
Congratulating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates for their victory in the by-polls in several states, the BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda on Tuesday said the party was committed to the overall development of the common man under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking to Twitter, Nadda said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA governments are continuously committed to the overall development of the common man by taking the basic mantra of Antyodaya.”
He further expressed his gratitude for the party’s victory in Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections. “I congratulate the workers and express my gratitude to the people for the victory of BJP and NDA in the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections,” Nadda tweeted.
Use of inflation issue by Congress caused BJP’s defeat but it’s a global problem: Himachal CM on bypoll results
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], November 3 (ANI): Following the announcement of bypolls results, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday said Congress used inflation as a weapon against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which led to the party’s loss in the byelections in the state, but it is in fact a global problem.
“Congress used inflation as a weapon. It was an issue in this by-election. But inflation is a global issue, not a local one…All these things led to our loss,” the chief minister said.
Thakur said that he humbly accepts the verdict given by people in bypolls.
“I humbly accept the verdict given by the people in by-elections. The results were not as per expectations.
The BJP lost Mandi Parliamentary seat with a narrow margin,” he added. BJP faced a setback in Himachal Pradesh, as the Congress party won three Assembly seats that went to bypolls on October 30. Congress also won the Mandi Parliamentary constituency.
MP by-polls: Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauds BJP’s victory in Congress stronghold Jobat, Prithvipur seats
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 3 (ANI): Lauding Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory in by-polls from Congress stronghold Jobat and Prithvipur assembly seats Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday called it a ‘miracle’.
Speaking to ANI, Chouhan said, “Congress had a stronghold in Jobat and Prithvipur, so our victory in these constituencies is not less than a miracle for us. Earlier in the 2018 elections, we had received only 12,000 and secured 4th position.”
Chouhan further stated that BJP has regained the trust of tribal people which led to their victory in by-polls.
“More than 90 per cent population in Jobat is tribal, I visited there and stayed overnight with a tribal family. While interacting with them, I figured out their difficulties and introduced a few schemes for them. We have regained their trust in BJP which led to our victory,” he added.
Madhya Pradesh bypolls which took place on October 30, were concluded on Tuesday. BJP had won against the Congress party in Jobat and Prithvipur assembly seats as well as Khandwa Lok Sabha seat, however, it was defeated by Congress in Raigaon constituency. (ANI)
