Washington, D.C. [US], July 5 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump praised the fireworks display during celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day.
In a post on Truth Social on Saturday (local time), Trump wrote, “Best fireworks show, EVER! President DJT.”
Despite severe weather and periodic lightning, organizers of the July Fourth celebration in Washington, D.C., presented a 40-minute fireworks display that was significantly larger than previous Independence Day celebrations, according to CNN.
The event featured approximately 850,000 fireworks launched from 10 locations, including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, barges on the Potomac River, and West Potomac Park. The fireworks display was previously estimated to cost approximately $850,000, CNN reported.
The celebrations took place against a complex backdrop, with Americans facing a high cost of living, ongoing tensions involving Iran, and a politically polarized environment.
The newly renovated Air Force One led a large-scale military flyover above the National Mall at 7:03 p.m. on July 4. The aircraft completed its scheduled flight despite earlier evacuations prompted by severe thunderstorms.
During the Independence Day celebration at the National Mall, attendees expressed enthusiasm about participating in the historic event.
A U.S. citizen, Janice, told ANI, “America 250 means patriotism. It means a return to the values that most Americans hold dear. We are really excited to see where this country goes in the future.”
The United States is marking the 250th anniversary of its independence on July 4.
