A leading Asian supermarket chain, H Mart, is adding “sneeze guards” at its registers to protect public and customers during the coronavirus outbreak.
As recommended by CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), H Mart plans to maximize distance among social contact in effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The sneeze guards help prevent direct contact between employee and customer while checking out at the register and at the customer service desk.
H Mart’s Sanitation Department and Task Force Team said, “We have reinforced our cleaning protocol and designate staff members to wipe and sanitize high-traffic surfaces such as shopping cart handles, door knobs, and cash registers, as frequently as possible. Hand sanitizers and wipes are also available at store entrances for visitor’s use. All associates are carefully monitored to keep health conditions in check, in case of necessary actions and quarantine to prevent possible spread of the virus.”
H Mart also began to offer reserving the first hour of daily shopping to senior and vulnerable customers. “Our priority is to keep our customers and employees safe and healthy during this difficult time. We thank everyone who has trusted us in providing food and essentials during this unfortunate crisis. Please stay safe and stay healthy.” said H Mart.
