Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 20 (ANI): The 52-day-long Amarnath Yatra concluded on Monday with the Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva, reaching the sacred cave shrine of Amarnath.
Chhari Mubarak Swami Amarnath Yatra led by Mahant Deependra Giri custodian of Holy Mace accompanied by a group of Sadhus left Camp Panchtarni on Monday morning for the Holy Shrine of Swami Amarnath ji on the occasion of Shravan Purnima at 8 am and reached Holy Cave at 11 am after performing Pujan at ‘Amar Ganga‘.
The main pujan started at 1:30 pm after ‘Bhadra’ ended. Traditional pujan and rituals were performed with religious fervour chanting Vedic Hymn. The Camp Director Sachin Jamwal, Commanding Officer, ITBP Samar Bahadur Singh and Sukhdev Bhasin Incharge of Security for Chhari-Mubarak Yatra 2024 also participated in the Pujan along with hundreds of security personnel.
Chhari-Mubarak Yatra left Camp Panchtarni this morning at 4 am for a night halt at Pahalgam. Pujan and visarjan ceremonies shall be performed on August 21 on the banks of river Lidder at Pahalgam.
The annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine began on June 29.
The Yatra, conducted by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, was divided into two routes: One through Pahalgam, and the other through Baltal in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir.
This year, the Amarnath Yatra took place amidst a significant increase in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)
